overview
Problem
The SEI’s HR department requested help to target a younger and more diverse audience. The SEI isn’t known for either of these things, so a fresh batch of deliverables was required to help push this new objective.
role
Graphic Designer
I worked alongside a team of three designers to create deliverables according to the director’s vision. I studied the materials they provided and combined those rules with the overarching brand guidelines in order to create a set of new deliverables that matched the objective.
Proposal
Devise a visual overhaul that attracts the target demographic. The design should feature bright photography that depicts brightness, positivity, collaboration, and inclusivity. Visuals must meet Carnegie Mellon University brand requirements but possess differentiating brand element combinations.
external collateral
External collateral included info sheets, post cards, signage, and other materials recruiters used at hiring events and trade shows. These materials focused more on imagery and popping graphics vs technical content and illustration.
onboarding materials
In addition to creating deliverables for external use, HR wanted to revamp the onboarding process. At the time, onboarding was completed through presentations and briefings, with no accompanying materials. Our goal was to create a folder with all information new employees would encounter, from creating a login to where to find parking.
social media images
We provided matching social media images to help HR create consistent campaigns.
